The Government of Canada has announced a $14.3 million funding initiative through the Foreign Credential Recognition Program to address Canada’s critical healthcare labor shortage, which saw 78,600 unfilled positions in Q3 2024. This investment aims to streamline the integration of internationally educated health professionals (IEHPs) into the Canadian healthcare system by providing essential support, training, and work experience opportunities. The funding will be distributed among four organizations across British Columbia, Ontario, and Atlantic Canada, with an additional national program to enhance credential recognition and professional integration.
