Prince Edward Island businesses hiring summer students may qualify for government wage subsidies through two SkillsPEI programs. The Jobs for Youth Program offers support for employers hiring students aged 15-29 for 4-8 weeks, while the Post-Secondary Student Program is geared towards full-time students working 12-18 weeks. In the 2024-2025 fiscal year, these initiatives benefited over 850 students and more than 500 employers across the Island. Applications are open through SkillsPEI until April 4, 2025.
