Beginning April 27, designated employers can start applying for endorsements in Timmins as part of the Rural Community Immigration Pilot (RCIP) and the Francophone Community Immigration Pilot (FCIP). Timmins is one of 18 Canadian communities chosen for these initiatives, which provide pathways to permanent residence for skilled workers looking to live and work in rural areas. Led by the Timmins Economic Development Corporation (TEDC) alongside community partners, RCIP and FCIP highlight 25 priority occupations across five sectors: health, education law and social services, trades and transport, agriculture, and business. The TEDC will conduct monthly draws to evaluate the highest-scoring applications, with successful candidates reviewed by a Selection Committee at the end of each month.
