Ontario initiated the Regional Economic Development through Immigration (REDI) pilot program on January 2, 2025, offering a new pathway to permanent residence for skilled foreign workers. The one-year pilot allocates 200 nominations from the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program’s Employer Job Offer streams to each participating community, including Lanark, Leeds and Grenville, Sarnia-Lambton, and Thunder Bay. Applicants with job offers in these designated communities can apply through the standard OINP Expression of Interest system, with applications being considered in targeted pilot draws.
