Minister Lena Metlege Diab announced that the Government of Canada has eliminated visa requirements for Qatari citizens, effective November 25, 2025. The move streamlines travel for business and leisure purposes while reinforcing the strong partnership between both nations. Qatari travellers will now need only an electronic travel authorization (eTA) to fly to Canada, though existing visa holders can continue using their current documents until their expiry. This development comes as the two countries mark over 50 years of diplomatic relations, with bilateral trade reaching $325 million in 2024 and visitor numbers climbing 11.5% from the previous year.
