Prime Minister Trudeau issued the statement on unjustified U.S. tariffs against Canada

He emphasized that there is no basis for these punitive measures, particularly given Canada’s significant efforts to combat fentanyl trafficking, which have led to a 97% decrease in fentanyl seizures from Canada. In response, Trudeau announced that Canada would impose retaliatory tariffs on $155 billion worth of American goods, beginning with an immediate $30 billion and expanding over the next 21 days. He warned that these tariffs would adversely affect American consumers and violate the trade agreement made under former President Trump.
