On June 23, 2025, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) initiated a new selection process to create a diverse candidate pool for future appointments to the College of Immigration and Citizenship Consultants’ (CICC) board of directors. Established in 2021 to regulate consultants nationwide and combat fraud, the College operates under a nine-member board with five ministerial appointees. This selection process emphasizes merit, transparency, and inclusivity, seeking candidates with board experience, governance knowledge, and strong decision-making capabilities on complex regulatory matters.
