British Columbia is marking the fifth anniversary of the B.C. Access Grant, which has provided over $178 million in non-repayable aid to more than 88,000 students since 2020. The needs-based grant offers up to $4,000 annually for full-time and $1,000 for part-time students, helping cover tuition, living costs, and other education-related expenses at B.C.’s 25 public post-secondary institutions. Designed to reduce financial barriers, the program supports low- and middle-income learners and strengthens the province’s workforce by improving access to education and training. The grant plays a key role in fueling B.C.’s innovation-driven economy and addressing skills shortages in sectors like tech, life sciences, and manufacturing. Students are automatically assessed for eligibility through StudentAidBC. The province remains committed to making education more affordable and responsive to the needs of a changing global economy.
