B.C. has streamlined its credential recognition process, allowing U.S. nurses to register in just days instead of months, leading to a 127% increase in applications. The BC College of Nurses and Midwives now uses a more efficient system that eliminates third-party assessments and leverages shared databases to verify qualifications. Since launching a coordinated recruitment campaign in March 2025, nearly 1,200 U.S. health professionals, including 413 nurses and 573 physicians, have expressed interest in moving to B.C. Health Match BC offers free guidance, targeting key areas like cancer care, emergency departments, and rural communities. A marketing push will launch in June, focusing on Washington, Oregon, and California.
