The Canadian government has announced a significant investment of $9.3 million to support Francophone minority communities through 12 new projects. Revealed on International Francophonie Day by Minister Rachel Bendayan, this initiative aims to enhance these communities’ economic development and demographic growth. The funding, managed by the Centre for Innovation in Francophone Immigration, will focus on community promotion, recruitment of French-speaking applicants, and permanent residence support. Canada has already exceeded its 2024 target for French-speaking permanent residents outside Quebec, reaching 7.21%, with plans to increase to 10% by 2027.
