On July 4, 2025, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) revised the list of eligible CIP codes, reinstating the fields of study that had been removed on June 25, 2025. These fields will remain eligible until the next scheduled update in early 2026. Importantly, students who applied for a study permit in one of these fields between June 25 and July 4 will still fulfill the field of study requirement upon graduation. These eligible programs are tied to occupations facing long-term shortages in Canada and may be adjusted over time to reflect evolving labour market needs.
