The recently announced Immigration Levels Plan will significantly increase permanent residents arriving in Canada, the majority under the Provincial Nominee Program. In 2022, 83,500 new permanent residents were invited to Canada through this program, but that number is set to jump 20,000 higher next year – 105,000 total – due to the recent Immigrations Level Plans changes. By 2024, the PNP target will be 110,000, and by 2025, it will be 117,500. Therefore, one-fifth of all new permanent residents admitted in 2025 will come through the PNP.
