With the arrival of the largest tech companies from the United States to the Greater Toronto Area, the number of tech workers, such as software engineers, information technology specialists, web developers, etc. grew by 1.6 percent in 2021, while this percentage in Canada’s southern neighbour was only 1.1%. When no Canadian worker or permanent resident is available to fill the tech jobs, Canada allows foreign workers who came to the country under the Temporary Foreign Worker Program (TFWP) or the International Mobility Program (IMP) to fill these jobs.
Canada’s Tech workforce grows steadily
