This app will use biometrics to verify identities and track locations, allowing the CBSA to manage compliance efficiently. Documents reveal the concept dates back to 2021, aimed at addressing challenges with deportation compliance. However, experts raise concerns about user consent and transparency in decision-making. The app’s use of Amazon Web Services technology has also drawn scrutiny due to its lack of transparency in algorithm testing. According to CBSA, enrollment in ReportIn will be voluntary.
