A Nanos Research Group study commissioned by Bloomberg found that most Canadians remain confident in the positive economic benefits of continued immigration. An overwhelming majority of 1,012 survey participants had a positive outlook on Canada’s increased annual immigration target – 52% stated that it would positively affect the Canadian economy. In comparison, 38% responded with the opposite opinion, 6% were unsure, and 4% were convinced that immigration levels did not affect the economy. The survey was conducted online and over the phone from February 26 to March 1, 2023.
