Montreal has solidified its position as the premier destination for international conferences in the Americas, securing the top ranking for the eighth consecutive year, according to the Union of International Associations (UIA). With 103 major events hosted in 2024, the Canadian metropolis significantly outperformed its closest competitor, Washington, D.C., which hosted 71 events. This achievement comes shortly after the International Congress and Convention Association (ICCA) named Montreal North America’s leading destination for association events for the ninth straight year. Industry experts attribute this continued success to the exceptional collaboration between Tourisme Montréal, the Palais des Congrès de Montréal, and a dedicated network of business tourism partners.
