Newfoundland and Labrador Strengthens Early Childhood Education Through Partnership with South Korea

On June 13, 2024, Krista Lynn Howell, Education Minister of Newfoundland and Labrador, announced plans to improve childcare services through a five-year agreement with the Republic of Korea. This agreement enables Korean students to participate in an early childhood education work placement program in Newfoundland and Labrador, managed by the Department of Education and the College of the North Atlantic. The first group of 14 students has begun their work placements in the St. John’s area. The Department of Education ensures programming and support for students throughout their stay. This initiative follows Minister Howell’s 2023 visit to Korea to foster educational opportunities.
