Ontario will invest an additional $25 million for the next three years to double its skilled immigrant intake along with the previously announced $15 million over three years in the Budget 2022. This initiative aims to overcome labour shortages and promote economic progress in the province. By 2025, the province will invite a record-breaking number of 18,000 economic immigrants, doubling the previous amount. The Budget 2023 also includes an investment to expedite the processing of newcomer applications and facilitate their entry into the workforce. In addition, the allocated funds will be utilized to bolster the security and IT infrastructure of the system to accommodate present and future demand.
