Quebec capped family sponsorship applications

The Ministere de l’Immigration, de la Francisation et de l’Integration (MIFI) of Quebec has enforced a cap on family sponsorship applications for immigration from June 26, 2024, to June 25, 2026. The cap restricts the total applications to 13,000, with 10,400 allocated for spouses, common-law spouses, and dependent children aged 18 and over and 2,600 for eligible relatives. However, certain categories are exempt from this cap, including dependent minor children, children for adoption, and dependent adult children due to disability. The Ministry will announce when the cap is reached and return any non-exempt applications received beyond this limit without processing or charging fees.
