The Government of Yukon has launched a crucial initiative for foreign nationals facing work permit expiration. Starting March 19, eligible workers can request a temporary measure letter of support to obtain a new Yukon-specific work permit valid for up to two years through Immigrations, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC). This opportunity, available until April 2, targets explicitly foreign nationals who hold valid work authorization as of May 16, 2024, and are established in Yukon. The measure aims to support workers whose employers plan to nominate them for permanent residency through the Yukon Nominee Program in 2025-2026.
