According to Statistics Canada’s latest survey [5], the number of vacancies is increasing, pushing down the unemployment rate to 7.6% – the level it was before the start of the pandemic. This creates opportunities for foreign nationals looking to immigrate to Alberta. A high number of vacancies increase labour shortages in the province that
makes employers turn to immigrants to fill those positions. The top 10

        * Farm and Harvesting Workers (NOCs 8431 and 8611)
        * Carpenters (NOC 7271)
